In a normal way, we can use USB and DVD for carry big files one place to another but sending big files over the internet is not an easy task. For handle this situation you have only one option is split large files in small pieces and upload them on the internet. We can use WinRaR and 7-Zip utility for split big files in smaller files, but both applications supports less features during files pieces work. So we need any professional software for split our big files into small pieces. GSplit! Split big files in GSplit is very easy task. Run GSplit and click on Browse button available on application main screen. After that locate your big file.

By default GSplit will make small pieces from big files with size of 14 MB but you can set your file size using Type and Size option.

HOW TO BOOST UP FIREFOX 8 SPEED

If you are Mozilla Firefox user then you must noted that Mozilla released all new versions after 4.0 in short time of period with lots of new features, bug fixes and improvements. Recently Mozilla release the latest Mozilla Firefox 8. It is similar to Firefox 7 in design but now Firefox 8 comes with some more security features. According to Mozilla Firefox 8 has some special new features like search on Twitter, third party add-on disable by default, improve Firefox 8 start-up time with preference to load tabs on demand and Web Developer menu includes a new “Inspect” option. It is true that Firefox 8 already setup for speed and performance but we can do some more tweaks on Firefox 8 to make it much better. To speed up Firefox 8 you need to setup some tweaks. These simple tweaks will increase Firefox 8 performance definitely. In this post I will cover only those tweaks that’s are easy to implement and configure.  If you are Firefox fan then I think you already update your old Firefox with new one. Now do some more things to get maximum benefit from latest version.

How to Speed-up Firefox 8 ?

So first of all enter about:config on your Firefox 8 address bar and click on I’ll be careful, I promise!

Now you can see all preference with default settings to make settings just double click on any preference and enter new value. I am covering here preference tweaks to get better speed.

1. Increase Pipelining value 4 to 8.

Search for  network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. Double click on it and set new value 8 (Default is 4). When we set it 8 next time Firefox 8 will send 8 request to server request than old 4 time. It will increase Firefox 8 page loading speed.

2. Stops the display of placeholders.

Search for browser.display.show_image_placeholders. You can see its default value is true so make it false to disable display of placeholders while images are loading. It will increase Firefox 8 page loading speed. To make it false just double click on browser.display.show_image_placeholders and it will automatic convert in false value. Or you can use right click option to make it false just right click onbrowser.display.show_image_placeholders and select Toggel option.

3. Disable Firefox automatically prefetching (loading) the contents.

It is old technique to speed-up Firefox old versions and we can apply it on Firefox 8 also. Search fornetwork.prefetch-next and you will get it with default value true. To speed up Firefox 8 make it false. Double click on network.prefetch-next and it will automatic false. Or you can use Toggel option after right click on network.prefetch-next preference.

4. Increases the maximum number of persistent connections per server.

Search for network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server. Default value is 6 make it 8. Increases the maximum number of persistent connections per server which can help speed up loading of multimedia rich sites.

5. Send multiple requests to a server.

We can also increase Firefox 8 speed to send multiple requests to a server. It will increase webpage loading speed. To set it search for network.http.pipelining and make it true. By default value is false. Double click on network.http.pipelining and it will automatic toggel to true.

6. Sets a maximum number of multiple requests.

Using preference we can set a maximum number of multiple requests that can be pipelined to prevent overloading the server. It helps to Firefox to complete last request sooner. Search fornetwork.http.pipelining.maxrequests and set its value 4 to 8. By default value is 4.
